Rosevine Fleece

Alpaca fibre is much finer, yet more dense and durable than sheep’s wool, second only to silk in strength.
The lustrous fibre is lightweight and exceptionally warm with a luxurious silky handle.
Renown for being thermally efficient and hard wearing alpaca fibre does not pill and is hypoallergenic - similar to cashmere - so suitable for those who have allergic reactions to sheep’s wool.

We have a range of our alpacas' raw fleeces, both Huacaya and Suri, available for hand-spinning and felting.

Price: on application, as individual fleeces vary in colour, crimp, lustre and density.

Rosevine Handspun Yarn

We have a selection of the finest quality handspun yarn, from our own alpacas, in a variety of natural shades and colours including pure brilliant white, various fawns and rich chocolatey browns to midnight black. We also hand dye small quantities of fibre upon request should you require a particular colour.

Rosevine Alpacas use only natural dyes, no harmful bleaches or chemical dyes are applied. Fibre quality is typically available in the range of 18-28 microns. Our unique Rosevine Alpaca Yarn is available in 50g skeins. There is approximately 110 yards per skein. Skeins are made from one individual alpaca fleece, the yarn is not blended from several animals, as with other suppliers.
